At a press conference in Japan, Sony president Ken Kutaragi leaked new info on the PS3 and cleared up some rumors. Revel in the goodness....
The PS3 will have a simultaneous worldwide (Japan, Europe and US) release on November 11, 2006. Kids, get ready for Santa to pimp your PS3 this year!
It will NOT (yes, NOT) cost less than $425 US. Start eating Ramen noodles... NOW.
It will include a HDMI support for HD gaming. Hurrah!
The system will support a 60GB HD pre-installed with Linux. Geeks across the world just had to change their pants.
To "combat piracy" every game will be Blue-Ray. Come on, they don't really care about piracy...they just want to be the only cool kids on the block with Blue-Ray.

Sigh. Once again, Rare had not learned their lesson and refuse to stick to what they know, announcing today the launch of Viva Pinata, which at first glance seems to be an animal crossing/pokemon mix geared towards kids with a game and TV show in the works. First they disappointed hardcore gamers everwhere with their last intellectual property Kameo, a poor excuse for an adventure game whose stunning graphics just couldn't make up for its crap controller issues and tedious play. Kameo was a giant flop panned by critics and gamers alike, yet instead of returning to their roots they again announce an entirely new brand with Viva Pinata.
Hardcore gamers everywhere were hoping for a sequel to Banjo and Kazooie or even Blast Corps, instead we get a latin-themed HR Puffinstuff only without the drugs. Surely this is a sign that Rare has just given up. Guess what Rare? We've given up on you too.

In not-at-all suprising news, the official word is in that the Sony PS3 will be delayed from it's original Spring 06' release until November of 06'. Sony claims in a statement released this morning that the reason for the delay is because more work is needed on its next-generation DVD technology. Color me shocked. Like us hardcore gamers didn't see that coming. Actually, one of us didn't see that coming and put his money where his mouth was...Kaelnin...pay up bitch. Kratos!!! KRATOS!!! About damn time, why did we have to wait so long to hear if there would be a sequel the greatest exclusive Playstation 2 game this generation? Word on the street is that a new climbing system has been implemented and fighting on the ceilings will now be possible. Kratos will of course run into an even larger gallery of villians this time around including Kid Icarus! Ok, I'm kidding. It's really just Icarus, but man wouldn't that be awesome. Check out the newest issue of Playstation Magazine, Kratos and God of War 2 are on the cover. Here's to hoping for a Kratos battle with Achilles.

Hardcore gamers beware! A disturbing new trend is emerging. First Texas and now Elvis' homeland is under attack. The Christian morality police with nothing else to do have focused their attacks once again on the video gaming industry. A new bill could outlaw violent video game sales or rentals in Tennessee for all hardcore gamers, regardless of age.
