As more and more news sources are reporting this morning, it is becoming more and more apparent that we will soon be bidding a find farewell to the E3 Expo we know and love. While this is a sad and shocking announcement, The Hardcore Gamer does not want to take this decision lying down.
The people most negatively affected by this decision are the independent video game journalists and the gamers themselves who will eventually purchase the products. Cancelling E3 will essentially silence the voice of the independent video game journalist. Moreover, the smaller, one-on-one events planned as an E3 replacement, will most likely prove a monetary and logistics improbability for smaller, independent video game journalists who count on E3 to expose them to press events, exhibitors and demos that they would otherwise not have access to.
That is why we implore you, the hardcore gamers, independent video game journalists and bloggers of the world, to stand up and be heard. Don’t let the ESA and game exhibitors take this once heralded media event and turn it into a backroom dog and pony show that only the pre-approved and well-connected have the joy of attending.
Sign the Hardcore Gamer “Save E3 2007 Petition” now and let your voice be heard!
Stand for something or you'll fall for everything.

Was E3 2006 the Last Great E3 of Our Generation? |

Most of the major news sources are picking up that the head of the ESA will make an announcement regarding the future of our beloved E3 Expo. Rumor on the interwebs is that E3 2007 may be down-sized from the mind blowing spectacle for thousands of hardcore gamers we know and love to a private meeting-only event for a mere hundreds. If rumor of the limited scale is true, what will this mean to the indpendent bloggers and hardcore gamers of the world? The lingering free press generated from the bloggers for weeks and even months after E3 is priceless when compared to the meager millions spent on the booths in the first place.

Costco's Lifetime Warranty for Hardcore Gamers and the Xbox 360 |

We originally reported about Costco's Lifetime Warranty and the Xbox 360 way back in November of 2005.
Sadly, after three solid days of gaming on our Xbox 360 here at HCG HQ,
the poor Xbox 360;s light was on, but nobody was home. Yep, after only
9 months and an estimated 550+ hours of gaming on a
single machine, the Hardcore Gamer Xbox 360 finally showed us it's evil
red eye of death. Sadly it was strain of the last lap of the second
track on the final Grand Prix in Burnout Revenge. Lucky for us, Costco's Lifetime Warranty on the Xbox 360 saved our Hardcore Gamer asses.
We know, it sounds too good to be true but its not. You really can
return your Xbox 360 back to Costco and they'll give you a new one, no
questions asked. No paperwork, nothing. Just the Xbox 360 sans hard
drive so we could keep our save games. We brought it back home and this
one worked just fine. A+ for customer service Costco, A+ indeed.

Could Nintendo's Press Release Hide the Zelda and Wii Launch Date? |

Today, Nintendo almost told us when to expect the Wii and Zelda Twilight Princess. We say "almost" because Nintendo "ran out of space."
C'mon, this is just cruel. You wined us at the Pre-E3 Press Conference.
Then you dined us at E3 after waiting in line for 42 hours while
pointing and laughing at the pathetic PS3 line across from us. And now
you want us to wait for it? Now you are just being cocky. You know we
need the Wii. Please Nintendo, don't make us beg. It is not a pretty
sight.
The press release hints that "Perhaps the secret to the launch information for Wii is
somehow encoded in the text of this news item." The quick glance says it could be October 2, right around black
Friday or no one knows because this could just be them messing with us.
"And, for Nintendo GameCube™ owners, The Legend of Zelda®: Twilight Princess will be available for you this fall. An enhanced version also will be a launch title for Wii. That will all happen on … Oh look, we're out of space."
Who knows, but it sure kills the time waiting for another Bluray delay.

In the light of the success of all-girl gamer clans such as the Frag

Diva, the GamerchiX will be hanging out on in the XBox.com forums,
gaming together, planning XGX Ladies Nights and plotting world

The motto of XGX: much love to gamer girls everywhere. This means no
trash talking or otherwise slamming your fellow GamerchiX.
