Splinter Cell Conviction, coming 2007

I'm sure these screens will make sense after we beat Splinter Cell: Double Agent in the coming weeks. But for now, here is some preproduction artwork that seems to suggest Washington, D.C. and American locales.

The Hardcore Gamer Video Game News By host on 9/21/2006 12:00 AM
Prince of Persia 4 is coming, The Prince is Coming Back. Lets hope godsmack isnt coming with him
The Prince of Persia series is one of our favorite franchises of all-time here at the Hardcore Gamer and this proves he is officially coming back!

Our anonymous tipster sent us these early this morning and we've got to say: "Holy Shit!" This pre-production artwork gives us a small glimpse into the future of the Prince of Persia franchise, which seems to be going down more of a Castlevania-esque path of character design. And is it just us or does this new direction seem more fantasy based? Are we crazy or does that nymph look like Natalie Portman?

Prince of Persia 4 Logo that feels more fantasy based?
Prince of Persia 4 Art from the preproduction
Prince of Persia 4 Pre=production artwork, clearly more asian influenced this time, maybe even a little castlevania?
Prince of Persia 4 Pre-production sketches and apparently a little Natalie Portman influenced.

Xbox 360's $179 HD-DVD Drive Supports 1080p. Sorry, Sony...
The Hardcore Gamer Video Game News By host on 9/20/2006 4:05 AM
xbox HD DVD for only 170, Sorry Sony, The Hardcore Gamer has spoken and you already lost this console war.
News from the Tokyo Game Show 06:

For months, hardcore gamers and home theater aficionados have had to endure Sony's marketing speeches pointing out the fact that there fabled 1080p is the only "True HD" on the market and if you want "True HD", the PLAYSTATION 3 is the only way for you to go. Sadly for Sony, Microsoft proved they not only want to win this generation's console war, but take Sony out of the picture altogether, by announcing that not only will it ship in November, but the HD-DVD add-on will come bundled with a universal remote and it will upscale all content to 1080p; effectively the wind from Sony's already tattered sales. And if this news wasn't enough to leave the Playstation sinking in a sea of hardcore gamer criticism the low price point of only about $170 US or „19,800.

$700(-ish) is the price of a:
  • PLAYSTATION 3 ($600),
  • 1 Game($60-$70),
  • A component video cable ($30-$50, so you can actually see the 1080p content coming from your brand new $600 machine.)
Meanwhile $600(ish) will buy you:
  • Xbox 360 Premium ($400)
  • HD-DVD ($170)
  • Xbox 360 Game ($30-$60, Since the Xbox 360 library has a 1 year head-start and there are plenty of titles in available in this range that will hold up against the PS3)
OR, for $700(ish) you could buy:
  • Xbox 360 Premium ($400)
  • Xbox 360 Game ($30-$60, Since the Xbox 360 library has a 1 ...
