Update: New Diablo 3 wallpapers have been added to the repository. OH SWEET FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTER YES YES YES YES A MILLION TIMES ING YES!!!!
Two Character Classes have already been revealed, The Barbarian, and The Witch Doctor. And judging by the gameplay video, there will be both male and female versions of both. There are three more classes, to be announced later.
If you go to this link here and watch the gameplay video, you will be smashed in your face by the most awesome RPG action ever on a computer screen. The monsters are climbing up the goddamn walls! There are destructible environments, which can be used in battle. Watch the barbarian bring down a ing wall on top of a mass of enemies. The traps are wicked and cool, and there is awesome parallax scrolling of the environment that looks like a genuine bird's eye change in perspective rather than layers scrolling at different speeds. The spell effects and combat animations are mindblowing. You of course remember spells like Wall of Fire, and Wall of Bone? Pussy spells compared to the Witch Doctor's WALL OF ZOMBIES !!!!!
Also check out the cinematic teaser. Towards the end, you catch a glimpse of Diablo himself. Thi ...

These classics have been remade, reissued and revisited so many times you would think Square published it. So if you are looking to catch up, here is my recommended play order and specific versions. I am sure Musashi's will be different. So by all means, start with the originals if you are a purist, but I am going for over-all experience here.
Metal Gear Solid - Twin Snakes (Wii/Gamecube) Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance (PS2/PS3) Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (PS3) Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistance (PS2/PS3) Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops (PSP) Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops + (PSP)
How about chronologically?
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops (PSP) - ? is that right? Anyone know? Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops + (PSP) Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistance (PS2/PS3) Metal Gear Solid - Twin Snakes (Wii/Gamecube) Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance (PS2/PS3) Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (PS3)
Thoughts? Prefer them in order? Tell us.

It has come to an end. This was one of those big games. The ones that if you take your time and immerse yourself into, you will get more out of it. Leave your jaded, cynical opinions at the door and respect what these artists have done, made one of the greats - Metal Gear Solid 4
Kojima took his time, he made us care. He worked his magic that people will teach years from now. The same journalists and jaded gamers that are bitching that the story is too slow and that the cutscenes are excessive can be heard complaining that games have no depth. Take your pick. We can't have it both ways. Halo or Metal Gear. Haze or Half life 2.
Are any of those games perfect? Is MGS4? No. Kojima falls into a Peter Jackson-esque hole at the end, not realizing when the story has been satisfied and so have we. These threads come together well, but they distanced us from the big moment that we just wanted to savor instead of trying to piece together the puzzle we didn't care that much about. (or even know about)
An amazing journey for sure. Now that its over and I am sad that no matter how many times I replay Metal Gear 4, you can only play it for the first time once. Nothing matches that shock, those jaw dropping moments and the control-twisting rage like the first play through.
Just because MGS is a masterpiece it doesn't mean it is for the masses. I wouldn't recommend it to everyone. I can see how some would think it boring or self-indulgent. But hopefully you will try it and judge for yourself.

These are the elite. These are the heroes of console generations. Metal Gear, like Castlevania and Metroid, still make great games. A testament not only to their design, the mechanics and their sales, but truly to their characters and their stories.
After 20 years, I am still surprised at the things I don't know about Snake and his crew. How many hours have I spent with them? Dozens? Hundreds*? Imagine after episode 100 of your favorite show, having your jaw drop before every commercial break. That is Metal Gear Solid 4.
Countless times while playing I have paused it, put the controller down and said "Wow." Seeing how well an engaging story can be told at the end of a beloved character's career makes me hate Indiana Jones 4.
So engaging is MGS4, that during the Act 4 loading screen, I saw the glorious message "You have been playing for 6 hour(s) straight." This game does that to you. You lose time. You sherk your responsibilities. I feel for Snake. I'm sad when he is. I avoid combat because I don't have faith in his aging abilities. I keep a constant eye on his stress level. Snake is not a young man. Giving him these hurdles to overcome only humanized him more and draws me in as user.
We have never, as gamers, had to deal with an aging character. I mentioned previously, that I loved that about Prince of Persia 2 Warrior Within. We never see characters age. We never see them struggle. Its almost as if gaming is stuck in the same pre-Watchmen era that comics used to be. People should look back on Metal Gear 4 and remember what it was like before this game. This is gaming's Kingdom Come. This is our Watchmen.
Are there 90 minute cutscenes? Yes. If you've ever played a ...

EVE Online Empyrean Age - War Erupts! |

By the time you
read this, the EVE universe will already be down and the Empyrean Age
expansion is being laid into place. If you haven't set a long skill,
you are fraked. Click here to launch the Empyrean Age website, and
check out all the scifi righteousness.
In typical
fashion, capsuleers were encouraged to set a long skill to training,
as with all expansions to the EVE universe, the server will likely be
somewhat unstable and touchy right out of the chute. However, CCP has
always been pretty good about nailing down the biggest issues and
getting pilots back into action. But if the past has taught us
anything (the launch of the Trinity expansion anyone?) It is a good
idea to do something else for a couple of days and give the ugliest
issues a chance to rear their ugly head and get squished. And make
sure you back up your boot.ini file.
In case you don't
know, or are too fraking lazy to click the above link, Empyrean Age
will bring the long-awaited Factional Warfare to the EVE universe. In
fact, you should click the link anyway, as there a couple of
excellent teasers to be seen, one of which has run a few times during
the last couple episodes of Battlestar Galactica on the SciFi
Channel.
In fact, here are the official teasers themselves:

Worst of 2008 Contender? Probably. Jenna Jameson's next movie? Absolutely.
More after the jump if you have nothing left to do and you've already seen 2 girls 1 cup. I'm serious, it looks that bad. Ok maybe not that bad, but maybe bad like if Uwe Boll decided to make games instead of movies. Think I'm joking? Wait till you read the synopsis. It actually contains the following gems: Little "Ready to Rock" Riding Hood and Prince Charming woke up Sleeping Beauty… along with her thirst for blood!
God help us.
