This week gave us both the release of the Stargate Continuum DVD, as well as the first gameplay video of Stargate Worlds. I am so excited that my testicles have been sucked back up into my body.
I watched the video, and saw something that was kind of disturbing. See, Stargate Worlds has humans in it, and the video shows them shooting guns. This seemed familiar, and for the longest time I couldn't remember where I had seen this before. An MMO with humans and guns, what could I be thinking of? Then I remembered, World of Warcraft!!! Look at this evidence here:

OMFGOMFGOMFG!!! Stargate Worlds IS JUST LIKE WOW!!! dis sux!!! I wont play their stpd game hawr! Warhammr will pwn U n00Bs lolol1olo1!!!lol...

Update on Disgaea 3 pre-order soundtrack CD |

Thought I'd update you all planning on pre-ordering Disgaea 3 - Absence of Justice.
Some more information has been released on the bonus Soundtrack CD. Rather than go the usual route of releasing a "watered down" version of the Official Soundtrack containing maybe 1/4 of the total tracks, Nippon Ichi is going the extra mile...
The pre-order CD will contain not just music from Disgaea 3, but from previous Disgaea titles as well! On top of that, each of the tracks have been added by a system of voting by fans - so you know it's gonna be good.
Just make sure wherever you pre-order is carrying the bonus CD, or you could always order from NIS's store, RosenQueen. All three of the sets will include the soundtrack as long as you pre-order.

In what was probably the worst example of keeping a secret in the history of MMOs, yesterday Starfleet Medics announced that the shitfest that was Perpetual Entertainment's Star Trek Online had been resuscitated by Cryptic studios, and is again in development. Perhaps the grotesque nightmare of the first iteration under Perpetual was the game from some sort of parallel universe, or there was a transporter accident, who knows? The good news is that abomination is dead Jim. The game now has (officially) a new chance at life under Cryptic.
Read the official announcement here.
They have already released some screenshots. No starships or character models yet for the forum flameboys to pick apart with their advanced degrees in art and years of game design experience, but there will be soon enough. View the screenshots here.
They also have posted a mention about an "MMO Gameplay Reveal" at the big Trek convention on August 10th, so I am hoping that this means that we will get to see some actual in game action. This should also give us a fairly good indicator how far along the overall project is, and how much legacy shit (if any) from Perpetual they have decided to use. There are as of yet, scant details on gameplay, with a few tidbits only being inferred or gleaned from some official info released yesterday.
Nature abhors a vacuum. This license, and its devoted fans, demand a good game. Cryptic already has a respectable track record with City of Heroes / City of Villains. But let me just issue this warning to the ...

There are times when you can't be sitting in front of your computer or have one of dem dar fancy-schmancy phonethingies with the internet tubes and such. For times when you want to block out the world that bores the crap out of those of us with advanced, multitasking minds (i.e. hardcore gamers), there are podcasts. The internet has lots of excellent news sources for gamers like us, and the advantage of websites is that they are the most immediate form of media that you can get on a regular basis. However, articles tend to be on the brief side, leaving those of us hungry for news and discussion of our favorite hobbies wanting more. A good podcast can satisfy that, and more. I listen to a few podcasts regularly on MMOs, and not only do I find them to be entertaining, but the also are quite informative. They will frequently have interviews with developers, in-depth guides to improve your gameplay, and provocative discussion of recent or upcoming changes that reading forums just can't match. Here I have included my favorite three sources of podcasts. I hope that you agree with me, because my entire sense of self-worth depends on whether or not I receive affirmation from other people.
The VirginWorlds MMO Podcast Collective - Link - In my opinion (and that's the only one that matters), The VirginWorlds MMO Podcast Collective is simply the best collection of top-quality podcast shows on the net. Go there and peruse their generous offerings. Also, the download speed is quite nice from this resource.

Cabela's Alaskan Adventures (XBox 360) - Review
Pros:
- The XBox 360 has an 'off' switch
- My next door neighbor is old and deaf so she didn't hear me screaming in horror.
Cons:
- I wasted money on this turd that could have been better spent on thumb tacks to stick in my own butt-cheeks.
- There are people out there that think this is a good game, and they are allowed to have children and vote.
This review I started to write a very long time ago. I didn't post it until now, because I never quite had the heart to actually finish writing it. Like a turd that won't flush, the unfinished .txt file has been languishing on my hard drive, occasionally peeking up from the drain whenever I looked for files I had misplaced. The reason that I never finished it and posted it until now, is that this game is so spectacularly tastic it was never worth the effort to me. Then last night, the turd once more poked its head from the drain, and I decided to just get it over with. So instead of doing something fun, I am taking one for the Hardcore Gamer Team, and finishing this sandpaper rimjob of a review.
I have owned my XBox 360 for around 2 years now, give or take. I think this game was the 3rd or 4th one that I actually bought for it, and all I can say is I wish the guy at the store had just smacked me in the head with a brick and stolen my wallet. He would have saved me the horror and agony that I experienced by realizing I paid my hard-earned money ...

There are times in my life when I am not playing games. I have what I think are pretty good excuses for these times, which include sleep (only 4-5 hours a night, leaving more time for games), work (have to pay for games), and porn (need at least one hand free, makes it hard to play games). Now then, how to maximize game time? Well, I could cut back even further on sleep and wind up like these guys.

Another possibility is that I can marry a rich and beautiful woman that doesn't care if her husband is a fat and disgusting blob that has spent so many hours sitting on a couch playing video games that the fabric pattern is etched permanently into his ass-cheeks. She also would have to not mind him not putting down the controller while she gives him mouth-love. Plus she would have to be the one working, since I am far too busy playing some dude doing something amazing in an immersive environment with addictive gameplay. On second thought, she doesn't even need to be that good looking, since I will be fantasizing about nailing that hologram chick in Halo anyway.
The only place left to acquire more game time is to curtail my addiction to porn, and that isn't going to happen until you need a doctor's prescription to buy petroleum jelly.
Or is there a way to do both gaming and porn at the same time? No, I'm not talking about playing some lame-ass hentai game. I'm talking about s ...
