The Hardcore Gamer Quickie Guide to Marvel Ultimate Alliance
Characters:
Don't pick Elektra for anything. She sucks ass.

Dialogue can be character specific. Example: If Elektra is in your party, (She shouldn't be...), when you meet Bullseye. Bullseye will ask her why isn't she dead because he remembers killing her.

Swap out and play each character. At least play each character until you've unlocked your 30 kill costume, that way when the time comes for forming your own, custom team you'll have a good feel for which characters suit your style best.

Any character (except Elektra) can be turned into a powerhouse given the right skill path and costume combination

-=Spoiler Alert Start=-
No you can't save them both. Choose wisely, it does effect the outcome.
-=Spoiler Alert End=-

Yes it's true, The Hulk is not in the game.

Spider-man doesn't suck, you just don't know how to use him.

Elektra sucks, no matter who uses her.

Costumes:
Each character has 4 costumes, this is how you unlock the additional costumes.
  • You start with one costume.
  • You unlock your second one after you get 30 kills.
  • You unlock your third one after you get 175 kills.
  • You unlock your the last costume from beating the comic book missions.
Don't forget your costumes and their bonuses. Some of them are priceless.

Just because you have unlocked a new costume doesn't mean you should use it.

Skills:
Turn off the Auto-Spending of Points, per character. The computer will dump your valuable skill points into some really stupid shit if you don't.

If you can save your skill points or money, SAVE IT. Don't spend them just because you have to. It makes no sense to spend your hard-earned Skill points on Deadpool's grenade throw if you already have 3 other special moves assigned to your buttons and you only need two more to level up a skill you will actually use.

Yes, characters not in your party do in fact gain experience.

Yes, that includes dead characters you have yet to revive.

No, that does not mean that Elektra will magically stop sucking.

When you find an upgrade, give it to the right person. Don't give a striking upgrade to Spider-Woman if she is your healer/spell caster/projectile attacker. Give it to your Melee Attacker or your Tank.

Inventory and Equipment:
When the time comes that you inventory is too full and you need to sell some equipment to free up your inventory slots, generally the cheapest items are the most worthless, followed closely by anything exclusive to Elektra.

If there is a weapon laying around that you can wield, pick it up. The level-specific weapons generally do twice the amount of damage that your main character can do without it. So switch to your weakest character and pick it up, then switch back to your main character. But, keep in mind that you can't fly or cast anything when wielding a weapon.

Team Building:
Generally, as in all RPG/Adventure games, you'll need a team made up of the following:
  • A Healer/spell caster
  • A Tanker
  • An Melee Attacker
  • A Projectile Attacker
Think about stacking the modifiers as a team. Ex: Spider-woman can cast her Pheromone spell that regenerates health and raises defense for the entire team. While Deadpool can cast his assassin spell that raises attack and speed for the entire team. Yes, both of the these stack on EACH CHARACTER.

Existing Marvel Teams (Fantastic Four, Ultimates, etc...) get automatic bonuses. Some of them are extremely powerful.

Those existing teams can be created as your own custom team for double bonuses.

Just because you can create a custom team, doesn't mean you should. Give it another two or three levels after you initially can before you create your team. Because if you have been a good little hardcore gamer, about 2 or 3 levels after you make your team, you should unlock Blade, Black Panther, Ghost Rider and Daredevil. And you will surely regret your decision.

Exploring:
Save often and use different save games, starting from the top and over-writing the oldest first once the slots have been filled.

Explore everywhere and make sure your entire map is white when you leave.

Don't forget you can call a portal at almost anytime, in almost any location. If you need to get out because your ass has just been handed to you, do it. History shows that pride and indecision kill more than anyone ever has.

Gameplay:
Button smashing can take you only so far. The comic missions and the end of the game will pwn you if you think button smashing is a technique.

Finesse characters (Ghost Rider, Spider-man, Daredevil, etc…) Aren't weaker, they just don't fit well with your button smashing ways.

Side quests are extremely important in determining the outcome of the game.

Comic missions are fucking hard.

Comic missions are fucking hard because the level of the enemies continues to grow with your own. So completing as many comic missions as possible, as soon as possible will save you a big headache later in the game. Would you rather face 500 Level 50 enemies? Or, would you rather face 500 Level 25 enemies?

What's the differance when u save 1 or the other

We don't post spoilers here, but I can tell you it makes a difference during the ending. When you beat MUA, it pieces together certain story paths that you had chosen throughout and explains what ramifications or benefits were caused by those choices. It doesn't make a difference game-play wise, just ending cinema-wise.

I cant beat Murderworld, how do i get both tickets?

It's been a while but I think there are two seperate bosses or arcade games you have to enter. One of them is like Pitfall, the other is like Breakout. After you beat them you get both tickets.
